About Hector
Hector Morales is a proud Chicagoan and resident of the Rogers Park neighborhood on the city’s Northside. He enjoys riding his bicycle through the city’s neighborhoods, reading novels from the Chicago Public Library, and making electronic music.
Hector is a great fan of the arts — music, cinema, theatre, dance, and drawing — and believes they play a vital role in the development of youth in Chicago. For that reason, he wants to incorporate electronic music as part of the core curriculum in CPS grade schools.
His training as a lawyer will help in creating policy that protects young people in the classroom, protects worker rights, advocates for better schools, and secures more funding from State and Federal legislatures. He believes that by working together with fellow CPS board members, the curriculum can be improved, student outcomes can be elevated, and high-quality schools can be created to support every student at CPS.

District 2A’s schools have real challenges. Hector will collaborate with all parties involved to address the many needs of Chicago’s students — guided by research, transparency, and a commitment to independent decision-making.
Hector will provide advocacy for CPS students by making independent, research-based decisions.

Provide full transparency in the budget process including identification of all funding streams.
Advocate for the use of current resources to provide student-centered curriculum and services.
Advocate for safe classrooms where students can thrive, with high-quality educational choices including arts and electronic music.
Solo practitioner attorney with over 20 years of experience representing small businesses.
